FOUNDER
I was my father’s caregiver for 15 years. He had Alzheimer’s disease. I learned so much over that time but mostly that preparing in advance is the only way to mitigate the risks. With a background in design, real estate and construction, I had all the skills. But it was emotion that kept me from being objective enough to know what to do and be able to actually do it.
It was only afterward, when I began to write about what had happened, that it became my single focus to make sure that no one else would have to go through what I went through.
I began to develop an entire system for other caregivers to know what to do and when to do it. The Safe at Home Program is just the beginning. I want you to have what you need to do your best job. My job is to show you how.
